For the past 2 or so weeks, I’ve been struggling with a bad chest infection(as if theres such thing as a good one). Running nose, deep coughs, fevers, not a thing good if you want to ride and train. I’m starting to feel better, but am still quite sick. On Saturday I participated in a collegiate TT with some VCU guys so I was pretty sore coming into today’s race. Honestly, the race couldn’t have gone any better though. We came in with a game plan, took control and executed. We all stayed aggressive taking turns attacking and getting into break aways. I went pretty early on and got into what seemed to be a promising break with some strong dudes like Matt Keane(Fat Frogs) and Dominik Meier(TNP). Francois muscled his way up to the break and we were sitting comfy. I took a pull and popped so back to the main group I went. They eventually got caught. Everything stayed together for the most part with 10 to go with the exception of a few one man attacks that didn’t materialize. With 4 or 5 to go I remember sitting really far up front noticing that nobody wanted to pull. With 2 to go, Scott Sheble got up front and drilled it like a madman for the remainder of the race and set up Francois for a perfect sprint to victory. I rolled in with a 4th place finish. Great day for Team CBC!
