First track race of the season!

Being the track nerd that I am my season officially started tonight with the first race of the season at Southside Speedway. We had awesome weather and a decent turnout.

The action was non stop. In the A race CBC employee, Andrew Troy, took first in the scratch race. In the points race CBC co-owner, Tim Mullins, cleaned up with 23 points. Andrew took second with a respectable 17 points while Jon Wirsing rounded out the top 3.

In the B scratch and points race Gary Hoffman and I managed to break clear of the pack and hold on for 1st and 2nd in back to back races.

The C race was ruled by Kevin Legaspi. Kevin was looking calm and collected on his Dolan track bike and took the sprint in the scratch race and then continued his domination in the points race. Good job Kevin! Richard Garyantes and Sarah Burkett took 2nd and 3rd in the points race while Sarah had a strong showing in the scratch to take 2nd.

At the end of the evening we wrapped up with a mixed class miss n out race. Rather than hanging around to sprint ever few laps Jon Wirsing and Rob Suydam literally rode away leaving the rest to duke it out. Oliver Dujua rounded out the podium with some smart racing.
