Tony Hall is a former CBC employee and professional photographer. Now he’s also the proud owner of this really awesome Cannondale Quick CX.
Cannondale uses the tagline “Sport. Utility.” to describe their line of hybrid bikes but unlike those four wheeled sport utility vehicles this bike is actually practical. Out of the box is sports a robust yet light aluminum frame set built up with a great mix of affordable but not cheap parts. Disc brakes for all weather stopping and Continental’s Double Fighter II tires for an efficient and durable ride on pavement or light off road highlight a great set up.
Stock from the factory this is already bike capable to get you around the streets of Richmond in style but Tony had bigger plans for it. Racks and water proof panniers from Toba and the super cool EVO front integrated basket turn the CX from a sweet city bike to an awesome commuter bike capable of carrying just about everything Tony needs for many of his photo gigs. Not to mention a weeks worth of groceries.
We finished things off with some pedal straps for his pedals from Burro Bags. Pedal straps are quickly rendering toe clips a dated design for the urban rider. Unlike toe clips they quickly adjust to fit any size shoe. Whether you wear Chuck Taylors or Doc Martens (or one of each if you are into that) these will fit your footwear and keep you attached to you pedals when riding. They are super easy to get in and out of too making them the perfect foot retention solution for those who do not want to be bothered with special cycling shoes.
Nice bike man!
