I agree - that's the best (and most accurate). I'm sitting here reading this with a silly-ass grin on my face (and, no, it's not gas). Thanks Puff.

Braden,

Thanks for the run down on this bike. I come into the shop and pick it every time. Love it. After riding dirtjump and freeride bikes, this bike feels like a full carbon road bike.

Either a suicide shifter, or an impedance activated bar hood. Maybe it can sense your heart rate and mental condition, you just squeeze and big brother knows if you are ascending or descending.

I got in to cycling like most kids do. Moved to Richmond to attend VCU, realize that bikes are really the only way to get to and from class. I bought a crappy Schwinn, road it to death. Up and down curbs, never inflated the tires very often, but somehow that thing kept me moving. Eventually I moved in to a house with a couple of serious cyclists that happened to ride for VCU and CBC. Corin and Zach. They took me on what I would consider now to be leisurely rides. But back then, I was getting whooped.

I was bit by the bug. I went shopping for a used road bike. Went by the old Bunnyhop, found a CAAD3 with old Ultegras for $350 and fell in love. Started riding the riverside trails on a Cannondale that had downtube shifters and bmx pedals, but I couldn't be happier.

A friend of mine started riding with me on his Six13 and after a year of crawling along on a 12 year old road bike, I was hooked up by CBC with a brand new CAAD9. Did a few Bryan park races, got my ass kicked. Loved every minute of it. Did some local Alley Cats, got my racing license and did a few out of town Crits. Loved it.

While my desire to race hard has waned, I still look to the bike as THE primary form of transportation. Nothing else comes close. It is not a way to lose weight. It is not a diet plan. It is a way of life. If you can accept that and learn to ride in the extreme cold, the pouring rain, the excruciating heat, then you're in it for life...

...And life on the bike is the best way to live.
